Abby James is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner who has been practicing in dermatology since 2006.  Abby is originally from Virginia but came to Nashville in 2000 to attend Vanderbilt University.  She completed her bachelor’s degree in Human and Organizational development with a focus in Health Services. She stayed on at Vanderbilt to complete her Masters in Nursing in 2005, where she graduated summa cum laude in her class.

Abby is an active member of the Tennessee Nurses Association, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and the Dermatology Nurses Association.  Abby also works closely with Belmont University, Vanderbilt University, and Lipscomb University, serving as an education preceptor to their graduate nursing students.  Abby enjoys treating a combination of medical and cosmetic dermatology patients.  She treats a wide array of medical conditions including acne, psoriasis, eczema, and common infections.  She also performs annual skin cancer screenings and performs biopsies as well as small skin cancer surgeries.  She is certified in the administration of neurotoxins and dermal fillers.  In her spare time, Abby enjoys spending time outdoors with her two children and their dog.
